Three Books Good for #AcWriMo

Week one of Academic Writing Month (AcWriMo) is coming to a close. I hope everyone participating is working well to reach their goals.

I would like to point to three books that have given me some good tips for writing. All of them are short, fast read, which will not take away a lot of time for writing.

The first is How to Write a Lot: A Practical Guide to Productive Academic Writing by Paul Silvia. This book gives great tips on organizing your time. You need to schedule time to write, not just try to fit it in here and there or binge write.

The second book is On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft by Stephen King. There are many good points on pragmatic writing with great anecdotes on writing.

The third book is Stylish Academic Writing by Helen Sword. There is a lot of tips on how to make your writing more clear and stylish so readers will enjoy what they are reading.

I really liked all three books and they have all helped improve my writing and thinking.

Enjoy!
